The " Nude Samus Aran " legend is an urban legend revolving around the action-adventure game Metroid. At the end of the game, it is revealed that the main protagonist, Samus Aran, is, in fact, a woman in a sequence in which her suit bursts off to reveal Samus wearing either a bikini or her underwear. This immediately caused rumors to spread that there was a way to witness her completely naked, not unlike the Nude Raider rumors. The method by which you could see a nude Samus Aran is unknown, but it may have involved beating the game numerous times. While this isn't true of the original game, there is an unused game over animation from the game's second sequel, the SNES's Super Metroid. In this unused game over animation, Samus's Power Suit bursts from her body, revealing her to be wearing nothing but underwear that burns away to show her naked body for a single frame.
